Gender Equality:
The University Senate approved the Gender Equality Plan of Bilkent University on September 12, 2022. In this context, a committee has been established to develop and propose initiatives on gender equality and inclusivity, ensure the implementation of these initiatives, and coordinate between relevant units.

Human Rights Studies Application and Research Center:
The aim of the Human Rights Studies Implementation and Research Center (İHM) is to conduct theoretical and applied research, organize educational activities, and implement relevant projects in the field of national, regional, and international law, following an interdisciplinary approach and scientific methods, to contribute to the recognition, protection, implementation, and enhancement of human rights within the framework of legal regulations. In line with these goals and objectives, the center initiated a project titled “Support to the Development of Legal Aid Practices for Access to Justice for All in Turkey II. Phase Project (ILAP) – (Preparation of the Human Rights Module in the Education Management System)” in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in May of the 2022-2023 academic year.

Social Awareness Projects:
Established in 1999 to aid the victims of the Marmara Earthquake, the Social Sensitivity Projects (TDP) currently operates with 14 projects and 5 institutional sub-groups, targeting 19 different beneficiary groups. Operating under the principle of “being part of the solution, not the problem,” participants of TDP, primarily students, strive to leave constructive impacts on their communities while increasingly applying the skills they acquire during their education to real-life situations.

  • Education Project for the Visually Impaired: Activities are organized to integrate visually impaired children into life.

  • Corporate Affairs Project: It includes subgroups such as organization, aid campaigns, sponsorship, volunteer summits, and promotion.
  • Hearts 1 Leukemia 0 (K1L0) Project: Various activities are organized in hospitals for children with leukemia and their families.
    Spiritual Child Project (MEP): Activities are organized with elderly people living in nursing homes.
  • Street Lamp Project: Support is provided for the development of children born into socio-economic disadvantages.
  • Citizens of Hope Project (UYP): A social responsibility project targeting refugees.
  • Raising Tomorrows Project (YYP): Educational and developmental support is provided to children to raise future youth.

Safe Campus Services: (The Safety /The Disability Student Unit)
The Disability Students Unit, established under the Rectorate of Bilkent University, aims to create the necessary academic environment to facilitate the lives of disadvantaged students and ensure their full participation in the educational processes. The unit continues its activities actively with this goal in mind.

Physical Education and Sports Center:

Our Mission is to provide the Bilkent University students with quality physical education, sports and fitness programs, and an environment in which they can participate in a variety of activities, team, and individual sports and games while getting in shape and staying active all year long.

Community Cohesion:
The existence of Bilkent Theatre and Symphony are the established programs within the Faculty of Music and Performance Arts, supporting social sustainability as one of the main streams on campus.

May-Fest, the opening of the academic year, new-year parties, and end-of-academic-year exhibitions either as Bilkent University or faculty scale are the other supporting social activities.
